Highlight: Getting passed by someone on a run near home. Why is that a highlight? Well I don't see many runners around home, let alone any who pass me. Also, I think it was a bloke who lives across the road from me!
I've put on a couple of kgs probably due to reduced ks and after dinner snackies. Also I've gotta get out & do some long runs. Also I've replaced coffee with no sugar with hot chocolate with one sugar in the evenings. I don't like hot choc without sugar even though I know the choc powder is virtually all sugar (go figure).
I've only started feeling well in the last week. That chest infection was brutal. I was pleased to get over the 100ks in May under the circumstances. My first run in June wasn't until the 5th. Since then I've run every day. That's 8 days in a row. My previous longest streak was 6 days. I'll have an active rest day on the weekend. It may be foolish for me to be having such a streak but I'm listening to my body & I'm feeling up for it each day. Also there's been nothing over 11ks in the streak & the pace is comfy so I don't think I'm going too much over the top.
The Coburg Bluestone Classic (15k incl 7k of very tough cross country) is on this Saturday. I did this last year in 81 mins & would be a good chance to get well under 80 this year, but I've decided not to run it for various reasons.
I was going to run the Battle of Bannockburn 10k fun run, but I've just noticed it's been cancelled. Bugger! OK maybe Sri Chinmoy @ Como landing 14k on 6 July will be the go.
Shoes wise, I've got 3 pair in rotation & they've all done 500-850ks. In terms of durability I'd say Loco>Asics>Nike. My next pair will be Loco Mojos (I think)....
